The Theater
The Palace Theatre in Albany
Welcome to the home of NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet in Albany: The Palace Theatre! The Palace Theatre was the largest in the city when it opened in 1931, presenting vaudeville acts and feature films. The theater, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has retained most of its original design features, and underwent renovations in 2002 and 2003, bringing aspects such as the building’s marquee back to the original design. The Palace has hosted a variety of live performances, including the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Rolling Stones, and Roy Orbison, as well as theater productions and city-sponsored events.

Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full international professional cast are local Albany children from Premiere Dance Performing Arts Center. Premier Dance is committed to creating and maintaining a fun and encouraging learning environment, without compromising the quality of dance instruction. The studio’s highly qualified, nurturing staff strives to ensure that each dancer recognizes how special and unique they are and to teach compassion and respect for others and the ability to embrace and understand our differences. Teachers share our passion for the dance and make sure that each dancer reaches their own true potential. Premier Dance pledges to provide superb customer service and satisfaction through careful management, organization and communication to ensure an enjoyable, fun and healthy experience for all.
