Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full international professional cast are local Midland children from Dance Expressions by Debra. Dance Expressions by Debra invites the Midland-Odessa community to “dance to express”! The studio offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap. Debra Hendricks’s passion for dance began when she took her first dance class at the age of three and she hasn’t stopped dancing since. Debra went to Texas State University to continue training in dance and acting. She trained in modern, ballet, jazz, improvisation, and choreography.  She became a member of Orchesis Dance Company for 3 yrs where she trained and performed in many styles of dance. Her performance credits include the Julliard Concert at Texas State, as well as performances in the Dancer’s in Flight concerts, Open Door Dance Theatre, Choreographer’s Showcase. Her choreography credits include the modern dance pieces Make a Difference, which was performed at the 2008 Choreographer’s Showcase at Texas State, and Dance With You and Chrysalis Perspective. Debra has always given 100% in everything that she does and her goal as a dance teacher is to accommodate to each student’s needs, to challenge every student, to demonstrate correct dance technique, and to be caring and positive.
